About Us
Steve Tupper, founder & President, started out in 1985 working on gas turbine power production plants while
serving in the US Navy. After leaving the Navy in 1990, he went too work for Tampa Shipbuilding for a few years
as an outside machinist where he learned the diesel generator side of power production, while working there he
made many Government contacts that would pay off in the near future. Steve was offered a position as an
Independent contractor too the US Military traveling the European and Middle Eastern theaters, teaching the
Navy, Marines and Air Force how too repair diesel generators as well as working along side them in the repair of
several generators. Steve then came home to start Lighthouse Marine out of Big Pine Key, FL. and then
Pompano Beach, FL., were they specialized in marine power generation on yachts. In 2004 the US Military came
calling again, so Steve closed Lighthouse Marine and went to Afghanistan and helped the US Army and the
Kingdom of Jordan’s Army; design, implement and maintain a diesel power generation electrical grid too support
a mobile hospital, which saw 900 patients a day. GENERAC Power Systems called and again, he went back to
South Florida as a field service engineer and helped set up a GENERAC Power Systems Distributor in Miami. In
2006, Steve started Authorized Power Systems, which covers the whole state of Florida and some of the
Caribbean selling, servicing and installing power generators and solar power systems, in homes,
commercial/industrial buildings and municipal entities.
